Distillery Diaries, July 2024: Fruit and Festivities

Dear Distillery Diaries,

Did you know that 1st July was International Fruit Day? The celebration was founded in 2007 by students who studied social work at a university in Berlin, uniting a shared desire to bring people together over healthy and sustainable meals. It kept growing and evolving, and now it is celebrated around the world, with participants voting for the Fruit of the Year (pomegranate came out on top in 2024)! We think that coming together and enjoying delicious fruit is a fantastic initiative, so why limit it to a single day? Here at the distillery, we make a whole range of perfectly balanced fruit gins that perfectly represent the spirit (see what we did there?) of International Fruit Day, and we want to make them the taste of the summer.

Seville Orange

Mandarin oranges won Fruit of the Year in 2020, and we can see why — their sunny colour and juicy segments always put a smile on our faces. Our Seville Orange Gin combines our classic London Dry Gin with bittersweet Seville Oranges, giving a zesty kick.

Sicilian Lemon

Lemon was last year’s Fruit of the Year, once again bringing a bright citrus sparkle to the palate. Showcasing the same summery yellow colour as the zest, our Sicilian Lemon Gin is a tart and refreshing choice, ideal for enjoying a rare sunny afternoon in the garden.

Blackberry

In 2022, blackberries won the coveted Fruit of the Year title, with their rich ripeness and intense purple colour. Our Blackberry Gin demonstrates the very best of these berries, with a deep jammy flavour profile that pairs delightfully with elderflower tonic.

We hope you’ll celebrate International Fruit Day by raising a fruity tipple with us — Happy July, everyone!
